Loweswater - Mellbreak bagged

It was overcast, drizzling and there were not many people out - we only saw 6 on the whole walk - perfect. Loads of sheep, shale and heather and magnificent views a-plenty - happy days. It all started with a trip to the Kirkstile pub and a hot chocolate..and ended with a hot shower and glass of red wine/bone..

Visiting Cousin Rocky in the Midlands

A trip to the Midlands wouldn't be the same without a trip to Grace Dieu woods with Rocky. Beautiful weather and stunning scenery a-plenty - not to mention great smells and loads of new places to explore..Aunty Anna-Banana's garden looked stunning and the bee's are buzzzzy, a game of scrabble and Rach' giving curlers a go all added to the fun and good times had by all. Happy Days

Cats Bells bagged

Spectacular day with clear blue skies and sunshine absolutely magic. So again we picked a little local treat - Cats Bells. NOW I have to say first of all..VERY VERY disappointed - who names a hill Cats Bells and then doesn't provide any cats - seriously!!! SO anyway - there were no cats but we had a great walk, met loads of people and only a couple of other 4 legged's - it was busy but we were the fastest and got to the top by overtaking heaps of people. Had a scary moment though when we had a scramble and it took me 3 goes to get up - made a couple of bad calls but then Rach showed me the way up. We cruised down the other side and hit Derwant Waters for a swim and drink. All in all a good day - I'm shattered and in need of a good sleep. Happy Days!

Latrrigg bagged

It was an overcast day so we picked a little local delicacy to try. I have been up Latrigg before but with Rachel's friend, Sarah. This time it was with Rachel. Cloudy, light mist and gentle breeze. We headed off from Keswick through Fitz Park. Had a few minutes deciding which way to go and finally settled on following the signposts and not taking a short cut!! Met some runners and another lone walker with no dog. Met loads of sheep and managed to get a sit down at the top. The clouds cleared enough for a view of Keswick. Drank from a few streams came down through a wood and ended up back in Keswick some 2 hours later. Had a rest, Rach had hot chocolate and cake then we caught the bus home to Cockermouth. Met Bobby the local drunk who had been locked up overnight in Keswick but was heading to the pub for another pint.
